Introducing: Mélusine Silk Bath Soak With French Celtic Sea Salts
Can you believe it’s already June? I hope your new year resolutions are still going strong, or if not, that you have found better & greater ways to make your dreams happen.
Soft talk, I know. It’s important to dream and to think how to make dreams come true so we get to dream up new, unknown wonders. It is one of the single greatest motivators we have at our disposal in order to learn and discover our own potential.
I’ve recently been on a short trip to the French Loire-Atlantique to visit family. This region is incredibly rich in and renowned for its salts – maybe you have heard of Guerrande salts? I recommend them for skincare & cooking.
One of our beautiful bath soaks, Melusine, uses salts from this region. These organically grown and completely natural Celtic Sea Salts are farmed in an area rich in green clay which gives them their distinctive green-grey color naturally. This rich clay also adds multiple skin benefits to the salts: its unique blend of minerals makes it detoxifying because it absorbs toxins from your skin.
Farmed in salt marshes rich in green mineral clay and algae, it contains no impurities, and no additives, only the nutrient rich natural local salt farmed organically in the traditional method, protected from pollution and regulated. Look at how beautiful these salts are! It might surprise you to know they are “wet” salts, and as a result so is Melusine when it comes to you.
When I visit this stunning location I am not surprised that they make such a wonderful addition to my bath soak recipe.
Out of this and other all-natural ingredients, Melusine is born. It is made with a blend of Lavender, Mandarin & Bergamot essential oils, silk, spirulina algae, Epsom salts, bicarbonate of sodium and the star ingredient, the Celtic French Salts.
The recipe for the Melusine Bath Soak is inspired by the region these salts come from as well. Melusine is the name of a mythical French medieval mermaid, a figure of folklore who was famous for taking enchanted baths. The full story goes that she had married Guy De Lusignan, Count of Poitou with the condition that he never tries to see her in her bath. Of course, it would not be a good story if he had not tried to spy on Melusine. She caught him spying and disappeared.
This story was a perfect inspiration. Melusine Silk Bath Soak is a potion for your own bathing pleasure and for your self-care. The scent lifts it into the room for your delight, while the other ingredients blend and bind together to detox your skin, smooth it and moisturise it.
I hand make Melusine in small batches to send fresh to our lovely shoppers. If you’d like to learn more about my other ingredients, I’ve added an ingredients list to the website here and am proud to say MYTHYN is transparent about the ingredients used in our products.
